Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Surgery

It’s a term to include broad spectrum of procedures for hernia which are a result of weakness in abdominal wall musculature either primarily or post operative. It includes all hernia from umbilical to ventral, inguinal, sphigelian and post operative incision hernia. All of above can be successfully operated by minimal invasive surgery or laparoscopic surgery. The procedure for laparoscopic surgery follows almost same principle of open surgery with placement of mesh/graft in appropriate layers of abdominal wall for reinforcement.

Laparoscopic procedure has added advantage of small cuts better cosmetic faster recovery and return to work.
